Hi, I’m Sam.

I’m a commercial photographer and director based in Missouri, shooting people, brands, athletes, products, and occasionally whatever weird thing someone convinces me would look cool in front of a camera.

Most of my work lives somewhere between polished and a little unruly. I like big light, real people, movement, weather, strange locations, and shoots that feel like something actually happened. I grew up hiking, backpacking, and generally finding reasons to be outside, so naturally I’m always trying to drag a camera somewhere inconvenient. Missouri is home, but I have a pretty serious soft spot for the Pacific Northwest and will rarely argue with a plane ticket.

I’m also a huge people person. I like the conversations before the shoot, the problem solving during it, and the random little moments in between that usually end up being the good stuff.

At the end of the day, I just like making ambitious work with people who give a shit.
